Meet the Vollemas

After living in this beautiful valley for the past 20 years, Rex and Shawna decided to share their piece of paradise with guests.  Rex has retired from teaching and spends his time reading, working on his car, woodworking, and continuing to develop their beautiful property.  Many of his projects start with a picture from Pinterest and “Honey, do you think you could make this?”  He’s pretty handy and hasn’t let her down yet.  Shawna works in Westlock as a school administrative assistant.  She loves cross-stitching, scrapbooking, cooking and baking.  Rex also does double duty as her taste tester.

Although Shawna grew up on a farm and Rex was raised a city boy, they both love the acreage and country living.  On very cold winter days you’ll find them doing “exciting” things like building puzzles and reading, but whenever they can, they like to be outdoors, enjoying traveling, hiking, skiing, quadding, golfing, kayaking, tobogganing down the driveway, spending time with family or just sitting around a fire.
